Head of Sanctions Investigations

Robert Patterson is the Head of Sanctions Investigations (Americas) at Societe Generale in New York City. He manages teams responsible for sanctions alert management, OFAC voluntary self-disclosures, OFAC reporting and license applications, potential circumvention attempts, and sanctions risk. Robert previously worked for BNP Paribas’s Group Financial Security department, most recently as the deputy to the Sanctions Alerts Management Officer. He started his sanctions career working in OFAC’s Sanctions Compliance and Evaluation (“SC&E”) division. Robert holds in a BA in Political Science from Allegheny College and a Master of Public Administration, focused on International Management, from American University.
